At Deschutes Acupuncture we practice electroacupuncture, a form of acupuncture where a small electric current is passed between pairs of acupuncture needles. A mild electric current passes between these needles during treatment, and applies more stimulation to acupoints than needle twirling or other hand manipulation techniques an acupuncturist might use. There is little to no discomfort during an electroacupuncture treatment.
Electroacupuncture is especially good for neurological diseases, chronic pain, spasms, paralysis, and sports injuries. When combined with acupressure electro-acupuncture has been proven to promote the flow of blood, relieve pain, and warm the muscles, removing blood stasis and improving circulation to areas of the body that need healing.
